I thought this was a romance novel at first and without spoiling it for you, it turns out it is not, though that is a component of it. The plot thickens with twists and turns and I found that while reading the chapters that gave more of the background allowing us to gain insight into the present story, I was also eager to turn the page and watch the story unfold. Angela tackles profound and challenging topics with a direct yet reverent approach and it made me feel for the characters as if I knew them personally. I am not an avid reader as I find I often fall asleep after a few pages but this book brought me into another world, one I have never experienced, but with it being so well written I found I could really feel and imagine what life was like for the characters in it.

A wonderful book from a 1st time Author. Emotional on a personal level and one can almost ask “could you imagine” and many of us could. Reads like a family tree of love, turmoil, pain & resilience. The perfect book for down time but a page turner. I’m still thinking about the characters a week later and that is the sign that I have read a great book. Loved it!

An intriguing story that crosses cultures and family turmoils with unexpected twists. Angela has the gift of painting pictures with words enabling the reader to immerse themselves in the storyline and characters. A highly recommended read.

O what a tangled web this novel ‘Traffic of a Lie” weaves.

Starting from the sad loss their mother Adeline & Penelope’s lives will never be the same. The girls believe theirs was a perfectly normal loving family but for Adeline it turns out nothing was what it seemed.

I thought Adeline was an easy character to champion and I felt bad when so many things beyond her control were causing devastating problems and heartbreak. Kind, loving & loyal how was she to move forward from all the lies & deceit that had been her childhood? However you can’t turn back time and fate may have other plans.

This is such an emotional, stirring and powerful book raising many questions.

Love, lies, and the long-standing cultural traditions in many societies. It sets many scenes, sad, tense, mysterious, frustrating.

Beautifully written and engrossing. The prose flows.

Elegant and heartrending, one of the most accomplished fiction debuts. I hope this book finds a large audience, a solid 5 star book, there was nothing lacking, will not disappoint and I look forward to reading more from this author.
